Adam Cohen is a member of the Editorial Board of the New York Times, where he writes about legal issues, the Supreme Court, and technology. He is currently working on a year-long series, "Making Votes Count," about flaws in the American electoral system.

Before joining the Times in 2002, Mr. Cohen was a senior writer and chief technology writer for Time magazine. He is the author of "The Perfect Store: Inside eBay", the definitive history of eBay, and co-author of "American Pharaoh: Richard J. Daley: His Battle for Chicago and the Nation". He as an attorney and, before becoming a journalist, worked as an education-reform lawyer, and as a lawyer with the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Alabama. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
