SENATOR RON WYDEN
(D) Oregon
"The Reliability of Intelligence, and its Ramifications for US Foreign Policy"
Ron Wyden was elected to the United States Senate on January 30, 1996 after serving 15 years in the House of Representatives. Senator Wyden is known for a bipartisan, common sense approach to major issues such as health care, new technology, education, taxes, consumer protection, and the environment. Politics In America recently described Ron this way, “he has established a reputation as a shrewd dealmaker, negotiating skillfully across the aisle to advance education and health programs and becoming on of the Senate’s leading voices on technology issues.”
In the Senate, Wyden takes on a heavy workload, serving on six prestigious committees that deal with issues important to our national priorities: Intelligence; Budget; Commerce, Science and Transportation; Energy and Natural Resources; Environment and Public Works; and the Special Committee on Aging.
